SALSA IN QUEENS; The new dance studio your new workout

Founded by Jean Franco Vergaray, Salsa In Queens is the new latin movement in Astoria, Queens.

At the age of 13, Jean Franco followed his family to the U.S. unaware of what the future held for him. By the age of 18, he took his first salsa class at Mambo Bravo Latin Dance Company and began what would later become his passion and career.

Since that first class, Jean Franco has now become a Salsa dancer, choreographer, performer, instructor and the latest addition to the list is studio owner.

Here's a virtual tour of the new studio:

The only spot in NYC to get a real "DeNiro Sandwich" - Sorriso Italian Salumeria

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE! Famed film star Robert DeNiro still sends a driver to Astoria to pick up a few "DeNiro Sandwiches" from this long-running Queens salumeria. Walk through the front door and you are greeted by ample quality brands of Italian cheeses, meats and scrumptious nosh-ables.

Sorrisso's Hero sandwiches are a big f'ing deal though, blessing your palate with massive portions and fresh ingredients.

Eggplant parmigiana blissfully pairs meaty, spongy slabs of breaded eggplant with a tangy, spicy red sauce and oozing mozzarella.

The mozzarella, (made fresh daily-you may be lucky enough to taste a sample over-the-counter) flavorful and thick also appears in the Caprese sandwich, along with tomatoes, house-roasted red peppers, and olive tapenade dressing.

Rosino panino sandwiches drop the tomatoes and add layers of velvety prosciutto cotto.

Mama mia! What are you waiting for!

If you's want one o' the best sandwiches in NY...

That cute little Italian Bakery on 30th Ave

If you're in the area of 45th St & 30th Ave. in Astoria, stop by the very excellent GIAN PIERO BAKERY. Their melt-in-your-mouth sweets and yummy breads are baked on the premises with lots of love. Question: What makes their FUDGE BROWNIES w/WALNUTS so delish? If it's a secret ingredient, they will never tell (I tried). GO NOW.
